Gusev A.N., Emelianova S.A. (2013). The role of personality self-regulation in threshold task performance: Mutual analysis of psychophysical measures and individual differences. The Moscow University Psychology Bulletin, 3, 76-92
The psychophysical research on loudness discrimination of tonal signals (method 2AFC) has been carried out, N=106. The influence of self-regulation (questionnaires: HAKEMP-90, Style of self-regulation of behavior, Self-organization of behavior) on RT and sensory sensitivity index A' was found out. The qualitative analysis of individual ways of discrimination of signals was carried out. The relationships between loudness discrimination effectiveness and self-regulation processes characteristics mediating the sensory task decision were revealed. The applying the principle of subject`s activity to traditional psychophysical research was accomplished in the frameworks of differential-psychological approach in psychophysics (A.N. Gusev). It is developed the idea that the variation of stimuli uncertainty leads to appropriate transformation of the functional organ (A.N. Leontiev, A.A. Ukhtomskiy) relevant to sensory discrimination task.

Actual problem of a modern neuropsychology is elaboration of batteries of tests combining advantages of qualitative and quantitative approaches. In this article we describe an important step of quantitative processing of neuropsychological data in “Method of neuropsychological assessment of children of 6—9 years” the formation of the generalized indices. The described procedure of the statistical analysis of neuropsychological results appreciably reproduces the logic of the expert who is carrying out the qualitative syndrome analysis of HMF-dysfunction. The formation of indices is considered on an example of neuropsychological assessment of 98 elementary school students with learning disabilities and 33 students with autistic disorders.

Article is devoted a problem of studying of gnoseological and practical features, of modern qualitative analysis methods: Miles and huberman’s matrix method, Strauss and korbin’s grounded theory and discourse-analysis. The results of comparative empirical research and author’s models for consideration of analytical toolkit from the point of view of specificity of the data, features of the coding of the primary data, strategy of the description of the received categories, interpretation of results are resulted.
