The theoretical substantiation of general psychological phenomenon of faith is presented in the article. The faith is considered as a necessary component of any complexly organized human activity. The differences and commonalities between religious and non-religious forms of faith are shown, together with their specifics in neurotic personality disorders, superstitions, and fanaticism. A psychological classification of forms of faith on the basis of consciousness and activity of the believing agent is proposed. 

The fundamental principles of university education (forming of dialectical thinking, the unity of teaching and upbringing, manufacture of need in self-development) taken from A.N. Leontiev’s perspective are marked out and analyzed in the article based on a number of sources including archive materials. The problems and outlooks of applying of Leontiev’s ideas are discussed in the context of current reforms of secondary and high school in Russia. 

Becoming and development stages of history of psychology at Moscow University are presented in this article. Contribution of S.L Rubinstein, B.M. Teplov, P.Ya. Galperin, M.V. Sokolov and others into the working out of historical analysis of psychological ideas are discovered. Traditions and current state of historical-psychological science at the Chair of General Psychology at MSU are characterized.

November 19, 2009 is the anniversary day for the Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Social Psychology, Faculty of Psychology, Lomonosov Moscow State University, a talented scientist and teacher Olga Timofeevna Melnikova.

October 15, 2009 marks the 60th anniversary of Alexander Ivanovich Dontsov, a scientist, teacher, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, professor of the Department of Social Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, a full member of the RAO.

On October 20-22, 2009 , the traditional International conference "Ananyev Readings" was held at St. Petersburg University.

On November 24, 2009, Tatyana Gavrilovna Stefanenko, Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Head of the Department of Social Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, a recognized specialist in the field of ethnopsychology and psychology of intergroup relations, celebrated her anniversary.

About the conference «The contemporary psychology of thinking: the meaning in the cognition».

Proxymology is a new approach based on a multidimensional analyze of patients and caregivers surrounding. In Parkinson’s disease, human surrounding depends on duration of the disease, autonomy of patients, and sometime of associated cognitive disorders. Patients’ quality of life is altered with the disease progression as well as their caregivers’ quality of life. Specific needs of caregivers in Parkinson’s disease are discussed.

Assessment of the psychometrical features of the Russian version of Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) was conducted on the sample of students (n=196; different specializations, from different cities across Russia). The following methods were used: Cronbach’s alfa coefficient, test-retest, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis. As a result Scales of the Inventory show good validity, internal consistency reliability and reproducibility. Factor structure of the Russian version of ZTPI is almost identical reproduction of the original Inventory factor structure. Convergent and discriminant validity was shown.

This article is the study of manual motor activity (his spatial and dynamic organization, interhemispheric transfer and coordination). The study of 58 children (healthy and with the Down syndrome), demonstrate the genesis of cerebral asymmetry and interhemispheric coordination, and the grave disturbances of these functions in dysontogenesis.

In this work we examine the main approaches to the research of emotions of patients suffering from eating disorders, and discuss possibilities to apply such terms as «emotional intelligence», «representation», and «sign-symbolic mediation» to the analysis of emotional regulation during eating disorders. In addition, we deliver the results of an empiric research on representation of emotions with patients suffering from bulimia nervosa that are interpreted based on the theoretical analysis.

The article addresses the problem of conditionality personal development characteristics of the student teaching system in which he learns. The results of two stages (with a gap of 10 years) comparative study of children completing primary education cycle in the traditional and Waldorf schools. To study the content, complexity and differentiation of a child to engage in meaningful events and players surrounding the validity of nonverbal applied projective method (color test relations). Revealed significant differences in the nature of emotional and personal experiences of students in different educational environments.
