Leonova A.B., Kuznetsova A.S. (2019). Structural-integrative approach to human functional states’ analysis: history and future development. Moscow University Psychology Bulletin, 1, 13-33

Relevance. It is stressed that the structural-integrative approach for human functional states’ analysis, elaborated at the end of 80s on the base of system analysis of work activity, formed the appropriate theoretical frame for evaluation and prediction of workability and reliability alteration. At present, in innovative work environment, this approach is still the adequate base for urgent and challenging issues, both scientific and practical, such as analysis of work activity regulation mechanisms in tensed work situations; evaluation of a state’s self-regulation in work conditions under long-term strain; elaboration of applied programs for the development of adaptation resources.

Objective. The article focuses on the basic issues of the structural-integrative approach, where a state is defined as a special structure of inner means for tasks execution regulation, acquired by a subject under specific work conditions to human functional states’ analysis. The main aim – the estimation of the approach capabilities for human functional states’ investigations in modern organizational and professional environment.

Method. Methods of multilevel assessment of a functional state’s manifestation are analyzed. The possibilities of data integration technologies, used for different functional states identification, are discussed. The different technologies for self-regulation of a state are viewed taking in account their capabilities to develop and improve the individual adaptation potential in work.

Results. The results of the main research based on the structural-integrative approach is overviewed. Special attention is given to the following question: is the structural-integrative approach worth implementation for the evaluation of a human functional state in applied research, when it is not possible to get data about manifestations of a state on all necessary levels - physiological, psychological (including cognitive and subjective sublevels) and behavioral. The example of such research is presented.

Conclusions. The results ofmore than 30 years of the structural-integrative approach implementation proved its efficiency for human functional states’ evaluation in dynamic work environment. The possibilities of the approach for functional states’ analysis under work conditions of high autonomy and self-determination in work tasks planning and execution are defined.

Barabanshchikova V.V. (2019). Employees’ professional deformations in dynamic organizational environment. Moscow University Psychology Bulletin, 1, 91-107

Relevance of the research is based on the development of modern technological innovative organizations, dynamic organizational environment and job stressors connected with inaction of human adoptive processes which provoke professional deformations in employees.

Objective. To provide theoretical, methodological and empirical base of professional deformations’ research in innovative sphere professions as the situation of development of destructive or adoptive job performance mechanisms.

Methodology. 927 subjects, innovative sphere professionals, took part in the study. To obtain data were used: Managerial Stress Survey (Leonova, 2006); means to assess the modality specific professional deformations as a base of self-management programs; psychological self-regulation methods.

Results. It was found the job conditions and job content in innovative sphere professions that predicted the risk group of professional deformations’ development. Chronic professional stress manifestations (anxiety, exhaustion, aggressive and depressive behavior tendencies) were found as predictors professional deformations in innovative sphere employees. The mechanisms of modality specific professional deformations were analyzed; the effectiveness of different integrative image based psychological self-regulation methods is connected with adoptive modality specific professional deformations in innovative sphere employees.

Conclusions. The principle of professional deformations’ development in innovative sphere employees is based on cumulative effect of acute job stress and chronic job stress syndrome. Destructive professional deformations and adoptive modality specific professional deformations in employees develop on the influence of job demands in innovative sphere professions.

Morosanova V.I., Shcheblanova E.I., Bondarenko I.N., Sidikov V.A. Relationship between psychometric intelligence, conscious self-regulation of learning activity and academic achievements of gifted adolescents. The Moscow University Psychology Bulletin, 3, 18-32

The aim of this study is to find out the reason why intellectually gifted adolescents may have poor academic achievements. Comprehensive analysis of psychometric intelligence, conscious self-regulation of learning activities and academic achievements relationships was carried out on a sample of 87 students aged 14—16 years. All of them attended school for gifted adolescents Sozvezdie and enrolled in a special academic program (A Gifted Child). A comparison of KFT and SSUDM questionnaires average values (on standardization and study samples) showed that gifted adolescents have higher levels of conscious self-regulation and regulatory processes of planning, modeling, and programming than their ordinary peers. The relationships between all regulatory processes, overall level of conscious self-regulation and IQ level with academic achievements in humanities and sciences were established. It was also proved that conscious self-regulation mediates students’ academic achievement. It can be concluded that high self-regulation of educational activity is as important for academic achievements as high IQ-level. Only the students who are initiative in regulating learning process as well as their activity in school can achieve the highest results. Thus, initiativity and autonomy are the link between the motivational sphere, IQ and the system of conscious self-regulation of educational activities.

Gusev A.N., Emelianova S.A. (2013). The role of personality self-regulation in threshold task performance: Mutual analysis of psychophysical measures and individual differences. The Moscow University Psychology Bulletin, 3, 76-92

The psychophysical research on loudness discrimination of tonal signals (method 2AFC) has been carried out, N=106. The influence of self-regulation (questionnaires: HAKEMP-90, Style of self-regulation of behavior, Self-organization of behavior) on RT and sensory sensitivity index A' was found out. The qualitative analysis of individual ways of discrimination of signals was carried out. The relationships between loudness discrimination effectiveness and self-regulation processes characteristics mediating the sensory task decision were revealed. The applying the principle of subject`s activity to traditional psychophysical research was accomplished in the frameworks of differential-psychological approach in psychophysics (A.N. Gusev). It is developed the idea that the variation of stimuli uncertainty leads to appropriate transformation of the functional organ (A.N. Leontiev, A.A. Ukhtomskiy) relevant to sensory discrimination task.

Kornilova T.V. (2011). The dynamic functioning of cognitive and personality potential of a man in psychological regulation of decision and choice. The Moscow University Psychology Bulletin, 1, 66-78

The paper describes the results of a series of studies aimed at revealing the regularities in accepting and overcoming uncertainty that characterizes choice contexts. The formation of dynamic regulative systems (DRS) in the actual genesis of choice is considered to be realization by the subject of his intellectual and personality potential in preparing for and making a choice. We also show how structural equation modeling techniques provide tools for making the notion of the unity of personality and intellectual predictors of choice, and of the components of psychological regulation of choice, more concrete and specific.

Kornilova T.V.(2008). Methodological issues of psychology in the works of O.K. Tikhomirov and members of his scientific school. Moscow University Psychology Bulletin,2,59-73

In this paper the features of O.K. Tikhomirov’s approach to human reasoning are discussed. These features are connected with the interpretation of conscious as a system, with the unity of the fields of intellect and senses, with the dynamical interaction of cognitive and personal formations. The author pays attention to the sources of the modern psychology of decision making, which one can find in of personal meanings theory of thinking. It is mentioned in the paper, that O.K. Tikhomirov appealed not only to the methodology of cultural_historical and activity approaches, but also to other methodological conceptions (for instance, K. Popper’s), which support the idea of the pluralism of human’s reasoning.
